English Language Test
An essential requirement of the Irish Nursing Board if you have completed your initial nurse training programme outside the EU. One of the following English Tests must be completed prior to interview.
Academic IELTs (English Language Test) as organised by the British Council. Without this you will not be eligible to register as a nurse in Ireland. You must take the ACADEMIC form of the test and achieve an overall band score of 7 with a score of no less than 7 in both writing and speaking module and achieve a score of no less than 6.5 in both reading and listening module.
Paper Based T.O.E.F.L/T.S.E - must have an overall score of 570 or Computer Based T.O.E.F.L/T.S.E - must have an overall score of 230
Interviews with Hospital Personnel
Hospital Personnel hold regular interviews in the United Kingdom and in Dublin, but if you are travelling to Ireland on a holiday we will do our best to arrange an interview for you while you are here.
