Nurse Educator (Oncology)

Kate Cowhig International Recruitment in partnership with its client are seeking a Nurse Educator, Oncology for their premier hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The hospital has a 531-bed capacity located in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia. It includes the new Oncology Center, which is the primary oncology research and treatment center in Saudi Arabia. The hospital also has a satellite 60-bed Transitional Care Unit. Other services provided are Medical, Surgical, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Labor and Delivery, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for Adult, Paediatric and Neonatal services, Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Emergency Room, Operating Rooms, VIP Wards, Day Center to include Ambulatory Surgery, and several Primary Health Care clnics spread over the Western Region.

EDUCATION
Essential
• Registered Nurse with a current Nursing license
• Diploma in Nursing (Western standard)
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Essential
• Five (5) years clinical nursing experience with variety of assignments, including two (2) years current clinical teaching experience.
• Post graduate certificate in area of speciality
• English Language Skills
• Arabic Language Skills: (Beneficial)
• Computer Skills
Responsible to: Director, Nursing Education
Basic Function: Within the mission, vision and values of the hospital and the Division of Nursing Services, develops, implements and evaluates educational programs.
Principle Duties:
Clinical Practice:
• Provides evidence - based adult Nursing education for nursing services staff, nursing students, Interns and Residents.
• Promotes lifelong learning as an essential and integral component of professional nursing practice.
• Acts as a consultant and resource for current nursing practice information.
Administration:
• Maintains documentation and record keeping that verifies educational activities according to department guidelines and performs other admin duties as assigned.
Education & Research
• Demonstrates proficiency in education design including development of needs, assessment, description of larger audience, educational objectives, content, outline, teaching methods, evaluations, strategies, and a designation of appropriate physical facilities and resources.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Quality:
• Participates in the evaluation of systems and programmes to maximize productivity, cost effectiveness via continuous improvement quality program.
• Complies with and participates in Quality Management Processes and activities.
• Complies with hospital infection control and safety protocols.
Professionalism:
• Serves as a professional role model and teacher.
• Develops and utilizes professional collegial networking.
• Demonstrates respect, compassion and cultural sensitivity to patients/families, other hospital employees, students and faculty.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
