UK Nursing Registration Those who wish to register with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) must meet the minimum Academic IELTS required scores of:- Overall Band Score (OBS): 7
- Writing: 7
- Speaking: 7
- Reading: 7
- Listening: 7

- Listening: 6.5
What is the IELTS exam format?
The total test time is 2 hours and 45 minutes and is split into 4 sections.- Listening Section: 30 minutes
- Reading Section: 60 minutes
- Writing Section: 60 minutes
- Speaking Section: 11 –14 minutes
