Director of Nurse Education - Cork

Kate Cowhig International Recruitment are currently recruiting a Director of Nurse Education for a leading private hospital in Cork.

The Director of Nurse education is a key strategic post to oversee, drive and provide leadership for nursing education through which the successful candidate will enhance and maintain the highest standards in patient care. The post holder will support innovation in practice, building on the expertise, creativity and passion of staff while working with defined frameworks to support future innovation.

Candidate Criteria:

• Registered in the General Division of the register kept by Nursing and Midwifery Board Ireland.
• Must hold a BSc Nursing Degree (Level 8).
• A master’s degree is essential.
• Minimum 10 years post registration nursing experience in an acute setting
• Minimum 5 years nursing management experience at a minimum of Clinical Nurse Manager II or higher level of which 3 must have been at a strategic level within a large acute Healthcare setting.
• A comprehensive knowledge of the Irish Health Service, with reference to nurse education and quality management.
• Ability to demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in research, education and innovation at a senior leadership role.
• Must demonstrate an ability to lead oversee a team that implements nurse education for nurse undergraduates, post graduate nurses and nurses for adaptation.
• Must demonstrate ability to co-ordinate with nurse management to ensure nurse education delivery meets all quality accreditations including HIQA, JCI, JAG, INAB, ASCO and ESMO.
